What has changed (and not changed) for the 2024–25 / 2025–26 survey?
Welcome to our guide on the recent updates regarding the Participation Survey! We’re excited to share the changes and continuities that will enhance your experience. Let’s dive into what has remained the same and what has changed in our survey process.
What Has Not Changed
There are several key aspects of the Participation Survey that continue to remain consistent:
The purpose of the Participation Survey remains unchanged.
The type of data collected by the NFHS, which includes aggregate participation counts, is still the same.
State authorities continue to have control over how data is collected and submitted.
Schools can still report participation without any added burden.
What Has Changed
We have made some exciting updates to improve the survey process:
The NFHS has transitioned the survey platform from UpMetrics to FinalForms.
States can now submit aggregate data through FinalForms instead of UpMetrics.
Some states are opting to use FinalForms workflows that streamline the reporting process from schools to the state and deliver school-level value in dashboards and reports.
Flexible Participation Methods
Participation methods remain flexible and phased. States have the option to:
Continue submitting aggregate data without any changes to the current process, or
Utilize FinalForms workflows that support school-level reporting and verification.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward, future years may build on this foundation, but rest assured that participation will meet the needs of all stakeholders.
